Start with the official criminal case lookup, but treat it as limited case information

The NJ Courts Criminal Practice Division identifies Promis/Gavel public access as the public criminal case tracking lookup. It exposes limited public criminal-case information; confidential or nonpublic material is not transformed into a public record merely because a case exists.

To obtain the record, use the Judiciary Records Request Form and identify Atlantic County / Criminal Division

The NJ Judiciary Records Request Form (CN 10200) supports pickup, mail, on-site inspection, fax, or email delivery and asks for the processing county/division. For criminal matters, provide the docket/complaint number when known. If unknown, the form asks for defendant name/aliases, date of birth, and last four digits of SSN when available, plus indictment/arrest/sentencing details that can narrow the file.

The form publishes basic copy charges and separate certification choices

CN 10200 lists copy fees of $0.05 per letter-size page and $0.07 per legal-size page. Municipal matters are a different court level

A disorderly-persons, traffic, ordinance, or other municipal matter may be in a municipal court rather than the Atlantic County Superior Court Criminal Division. Use the case information to identify the court before ordering; do not treat a Superior Court records-room search as exhaustive of all municipal matters.

A court-file request is not a statewide criminal-history repository check

If public access is denied or the item is missing

Use the Judiciary request disposition and the records room to learn whether the item is unavailable, confidential, sealed, or held elsewhere. A missing online entry is not enough to conclude that no criminal record exists.
